This policy explains what information FormByState collects when you visit the site, which is very little by design, and what happens to the information involved when you use our tools. The short version is simple. This is a static publication with no accounts, no checkout, and no forms that store your personal data on a server.
No accounts and no stored form data
FormByState has no user accounts, no sign up process, and no login. We do not ask you to create a profile, and we do not maintain a database of readers. The site does not sell anything, so it never collects payment information of any kind.
Our calculators and checkers, including the LLC cost calculator, the registered agent checker, and the compliance calendar, run in your browser on your own device. The state you select, the options you choose, and the figures you enter are used by the tool on your device to compute a result for you. Those inputs are not sent to a server, not stored by us, and not visible to us. If you close the page, we retain nothing about what you entered, because we never received it.
Analytics
Like most publications, we use analytics to understand which pages readers find useful, in summary form. Analytics tells us aggregate facts, such as how many visits a page received, roughly where visits come from, and which pages lead readers to our tools. We use this information to decide what to improve and what to check more often. We do not use analytics to build profiles of individual readers, and we do not sell analytics data.
Cookies
Websites use cookies for a range of ordinary purposes, from remembering simple preferences to measuring visits for analytics. This site keeps any cookie use minimal and in line with the functions described in this policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The articles and tools on this site remain readable and usable with cookies blocked, though visit measurement may become less complete.
Our pages link to other websites, including state filing offices and service providers. Some outbound links are affiliate links, as explained in our affiliate disclosure. When you follow a link to another site, that site privacy policy governs what it collects, including any cookies it sets. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any provider you consider buying from, before you share information with them.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the site functions change, for example if we ever add a feature that handles information in a new way. The current version will always be the one published on this page, with its date shown at the top.
If you have a question about this policy or about privacy on this site, contact details are published on the About page. Please do not send sensitive personal documents, such as identification or financial records, in connection with a privacy question. Nothing on this site requires you to share that kind of information with us, ever.
